S. F. Hardy is a fun loving author and librarian who enjoys
reading to children in hopes to cultivate a love for reading through stories
they can relate to. Although entertaining, her stories are meant to impart the
value of self-acceptance, cultural diversity and sharing.
The Empress’ New Hair
is her first children’s book inspired by: good hair days, bad hair days, and
everything in between. Growing up in the beauty salon amongst a family of professional hairstylist, dealing with her own
wonderfully complicated textured hair and seeing some of the black women around
her struggle with their perception of beauty and "good hair", she
decided to self-publish this project that is very close to her heart.
S. F. Hardy dedicates this book to all of the beautiful
little girls in Detroit
and the world with curly, straight, wavy, frizzy, fine, kinky, long, short, and
every other hair texture and length imaginable. You are our own empress and we
salute your beauty today.
Stay tuned for The
Selfish Boy Who Shared by S.F. Hardy
Winter 2013.
